The SFZH Initiative facilitates and supports activities that bring companies and institutions together in the two regions, establishing a center of competence in the fields of:

While sister cities relationships traditionally focus more on activities in the areas of culture and promotion, the emphasis of the San Francisco - Zurich Initiative will be on knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer.

Selected activities in the areas of sports, tourism and promotion will be periodically evaluated by the dual committees with an aim towards supporting the overall success of the San Francisco - Zurich Initiative while fostering a powerful image through public awareness.
